The Bookbinders Journal

Bookbinders

An Australian journal of stationery, ink and analog life

Digital detox, still

A quality notebook, a bottle of ink, and the long Australian afternoon.

Bookbinders began as a Brisbane stationery shop that posted Midori refills for letter rates and waited on Iroshizuku. This journal keeps that voice: considered, practical, and loyal to the analog object.

“If you like pens and stationery, this is the place for you.”

The Aspley shopfront

For years the physical store sat at Shop 3, 1355 Gympie Road, Aspley, on the northside of Brisbane. The hours were ordinary and the stock was not: Traveler's Company, Pilot prestige pens, Midori MD, Bellroy carry goods, and the occasional Graf von Faber-Castell that sold as if it were a secret.

We commission original essays on pens, paper, shops, and the analog habits that still hold in Australian weather. Guest pieces are edited, credited, and never stuffed with links for their own sake.
