These mock lizard embossed covered notebooks are of the highest quality. They have a hardcover making them hardwearing and are great for every day use.
They have been produced in the old fashioned Crown Quarto (17.2cm wide x 23.9cm high) size.
The notebooks feature 160 lined pages of 100gsm off-white paper, chosen because of its excellent performance and is fountain pen friendly. What’s more – it is milled in Cumbria in the UK at one of the few remaining paper mills.
Each book is hand made in Stamford, Britain using a combination of traditional artisan book binding methods and modern equipment.
Acknowledged as one of the most beautiful towns in England, Stamford is known to have been the scene of human activity for around 5000 years.
The visitor cannot fail to be impressed by the fine stone buildings with their locally quarried Collyweston stone slate roofs. If the cars could be removed from the streets the scene has remained unchanged for a couple of centuries.
And so the Stamford Notebook Company, an offshoot of the printing industry, making notebooks by hand, is adding to the long list of small enterprises that have kept the Town ticking over for centuries.
All Stamford Notebooks are hand bound in Stamford, Britain, by true craftsmen using centuries old techniques and modern equipment (sort of, if you count their lovely old 1948 sewing machine as modern!)
They handmade the first Stamford Notebooks in October 2013. Their aim was to bind the best notebooks for writing and drawing using the best handwriting paper, leather and bookbinding cloth they could find.
