It features a rotating suction fill mechanism and does not take cartridges nor need a converter. To fill the pen simply twist the end piece on the barrel and this draws ink up into the clear barrel allowing you to easily see and enjoy the colour of ink as well as how much is left. The ink fills the entire barrel which means it can hold up to 1.2ml. The engraved nib is 14-carat gold, rhodium-plated.
When purchasing this pen you will receive a free 30 ml bottle of pilot ink (see picture) as Bookbinders' gift to you.

Using a fountain pen is a special experience that simply cannot be matched by regular pens.
The Pilot Custom Heritage 92 uses a built in filling mechanism meaning it can only be used with bottled ink. Not cartridges.
To use bottled ink such as Iroshizuku or Bookbinders Snake Ink first twist the back of the pen body until the piston is all the way down, then submerge the entire nib in the bottle of ink. As you twist the mechanism on the back of the pen back up it will draw ink inside the pen. Then take a paper towel or cloth and dry the nib.
To clean your fountain pen we suggest using lukewarm (not hot) water to clear out the nib and feed until the water appears clear. You can do this by dipping the pen in the water, or if using a converter draw the water up inside and push back out. Then touch dry with paper towel and add fresh ink. The pen may write a little watery at first, but this is normal.
